It is finished! My very first sweater beyond an infant sweater, which was so tiny it didn't really count. Here is Avery sporting his Wallaby sweater. You'd think a 2 year-old wouldn't really care about clothes but Avery's really in love with his sweater. Every time he wears it he talks about how mommy knit it, and then he'll say something like "Thank you Mommy for knittin' my sweater!"
Another work-in-progress that I've picked up is the Lizard Ridge blanket I am making. This is a blanket that you knit in squares and then seam together at the end. I started this when I was purling incorrectly, so there is a slight variance in the top square but it's got enough color changes that it's not really noticeable. This is my 'in-between projects' project.
Remember these apples? Here are the cupcakes that go with that order. Aren't they cute? I really love the french knots for sprinkles. They aren't very realistic sprinkles but I think they add some depth to the cupcakes.
And while we are on the topic of cupcakes, I wanted to show you a photo of some cupcakes I made this weekend. These are by far the ugliest.cupcakes.ever. These are cookies & cream cupcakes from this cookbook. They taste good, but in my opinion are way too dense for a cupcake. The batter has 1/2 cup of butter, and the frosting has another 1/2 cup. All together that is a pound of butter! Plus, I think they are a bit too crumbly and look muddy and sloppy. And you can't pipe the frosting because it has cookie bits in it.
I see less knitting, and more packing in my future. But I can live with that. :o)

I'd be more than happy to take those ugly cupcakes off your hands!
I love Avery's sweater!! Good job!
I love Avery's sweater, and it's just too cute how he talks about how you knit it! If that isn't motivation to make stuff for your kids, I don't know what is! our stuff is just beautiful!
